31 July 2007 – New Haven, CT

Posted in: Travel Blog

Farther along…

We awakened for our last morning in NYC, had breakfast, figured out a way to re-pack everything, then headed out. We accepted Phil’s kind offer to drive us to CT (he had to go there this week anyways) and got another couple of hours of conversation with him that way. By early afternoon, he had dropped us off in New Haven, into the kind and able hands of our next hosts, Fred and Maria, who made us comfortable in their home, fed us a much appreciated meal (much of it from their garden), and then took us to our next screening at the Unitarian Society of New Haven.

It was another great experience. An audience of almost eighty viewed the documentary, and then twenty five of us stayed until ten thirty or so, sitting in circle and sharing with each other the thoughts and feelings the documentary evoked. It was a very open circle, kind and encouraging and thankful for our work, and willing to let the world situation move them. They spoke of their addictions and denials, of their visions, of their work, and it felt as if new possibilities were being created, as the experience of circle worked its magic.

Afterwards, tired yet energized, we sat with our hosts, drank a glass of home-brewed mead made by Shawn in NYC, and went to bed.

Slowly, we’re getting the hang of this…

Tim
